Is Big Spot Legit and Real? Don’t Join the Big Spot Scam

big spot scamWhat is the Big Spot scam? Or is Big Spot really legit? Find out by reading this Big Spot review.

BigSpot — Worthwhile or Worthless?

Bigspot is a company that claims to offer you online surveys in return for money. Many of you may have seen them advertised on television. They are owned by Varsity Plaza LLC, which also owns OfferWise, a research company that deals with Hispanic and Latin America populations.

Varsity Plaza itself has an A+ rating with the BBB. However, that doesn’t mean that BigSpot is worth your time. Let me explain.

BigSpot — Just a Ruse to Get Your Email Address

When signing up to BigSpot, you will be asked to enter your email address and some more personal information. However, notice that they don’t require you to set up a password. This is because after signing up, you will just be taken to a list of three other survey sites: Toluna, Ipsos I-Say, and MySurvey. You can then go to each one and sign up, where you will be given online surveys for gift cards and cash.

These are legit survey sites, but they have nothing to do with BigSpot. You can just go ahead and sign up to them without giving your email address to BigSpot first. All BigSpot really wants is your email address, so they can send you further promotional emails about surveys and stuff like that. (They also make money from advertising those 3 survey companies to you.)

That’s a little shady, if you ask me. BigSpot couldn’t even bother to set up a normal survey site. Instead, they just get your email address and give you a list of three other survey sites.

Can You Make Money With Online Surveys?

Can you make money with online surveys? The answer is yes, and Toluna, Ipsos I-Say, and MySurvey are all legit companies. However, the amount of money you can make is really minimal. Survey sites are only good for a little extra cash here are there. In addition, it is common to earn at a rate of just one or two dollars per hour.

So, Is Big Spot a Scam? Can It Really Be True?

BigSpot may not be an outright scam. They aren’t taking your money or anything. However, they are taking your email address. There’s no reason to give them your email address unless you want promotional junk filling up your inbox.

In my opinion, you should not waste your time taking surveys online for money. There are much better ways to make money online.

    Hi there,

Nice that you spotted out this scammy mechanism. There are lots of programs and people trying to get your email just to spam you with affiliate links or product promotions without having any sense of feeling towards the customer.

I’ve never been on online surveys as the payoff is really poor but I know that there are some legit companies out there.

    Again, thanks for your warning!

      Hi Kevin!

Yes, Big Spot is run by a legit company, but this thing that they set up is a kind of a crappy move.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    Dear BenElijah,

I never heard of BigSpot until I read through your Blog Post here. I did hear about Toluna from a friend before and was anxious in trying them out. Do you have any experience with Toluna personally and would you say it is better than BigSpot? I know that there are many online survey companies out there, but how can you tell for sure which are legit and which are fake standing strong to scam people?

Thank you so much for writing this Blog Post, I appreciate your thoughts and sharing your background knowledge with us on this. 😀

Hope to hear from you soon on the questions I have asked. 🙂

Wishing you all the best with your online success above and beyond the horizon,

      Hi Angel!

Toluna is definitely a legit company, and is one of the legit survey sites out there. Before joining any survey site, just do your research online by reading reviews such as this one!

      Thanks for stopping by!
